Words from the man himself:

I’m a 21 year old. I was born in Barberton, Nelspruit, I lived there for 2 years before moving to Malawi for 3 years thereafter to Mozambique for 1 year, and then we moved to the Philippines for 9 years were I did the most of my schooling and growing up. After we moved to Germany for 1 year and then my dad was assigned on contract to South Africa. I finished my schooling in 2012 at Kearsney College in Bothas hill in Kwa-zulu Natal.

Half way throw my last year at school I still was unclear on what I wanted to do. So my Dad already having his PPL (lapsed in 1997) paid for an intro flight at Virginia flight school. The aviation bug bit me so hard that day and that was it.

January 7th 2013 was when I started at 43 air school in port Alfred. From knowing very little about aviation I completed my Integrated ATPL commercial pilot’s license with my multi-engine done on the 7 July 2014.

Shortly after finishing I came up to Joburg  to collect my license from CAA and while waiting, I decided to go to rand airport to have lunch with my best mate form flight school who was finishing his instructors rating at African College of Aviation. By coincidence the owner was there and we got talking they were looking for one more instructor, so I said I had just finished com and I was looking for a job. I said I would work operations while completing my rating and they accepted me and I had my first job.

Just last week I pasted my instructors flight test and am now working full time as a flight instructor at the college. I’m currently living up here in Joburg, trying to forward my career to get the best life and to make it as far as an airline pilot witch is my ultimate goal in life.

Once again through my best friend and now work mate, we came across the king air opportunity and since being low hour pilots looking to expand our experience we jumped at the opportunity knowing that with the combination of the instruction job and the king air b200 rating we could get out of the poverty of the low hour pilots.

I have saved up 25,000 rand of the 50,000 rand that is required and am working on the second 25,000,

So far the only practical option I have is to sell my first car and prized possession, a 1969 VW beetle that I worked on and got exactly the way I want.
